RaGlyph Privacy Policy
RaGlyph (“the app”) is operated by JH STUDIO (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what information the app handles when you use it to translate photos of Egyptian hieroglyphs or to type English letters into hieroglyphs.
Information we handle
- Photos you choose to translate. When you tap “Decipher the glyphs”, the photo you selected or took is sent over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection to our server.
- Technical data. Our hosting provider and server may log basic technical information such as your IP address, request time, and error messages, which we use to keep the service running and to prevent abuse.
- Text you type in the “English → Glyphs” tab is converted on your device and is not sent to our server.
We do not ask you to create an account, and we do not collect your name, email address, contacts, or precise location.
How photos are used
Our server forwards your photo to Anthropic’s Claude API, a third-party AI service, to identify the hieroglyphs and produce the translation. The result is returned to the app. We use your photo only to provide this translation. We do not sell your photos or use them for advertising.
Our server processes each photo to produce the result and does not keep it afterwards. Anthropic handles data sent through its API under its own terms and privacy policy, available at anthropic.com/legal/privacy.
Permissions
- Camera, to take a photo of an inscription.
- Photos / media library, to choose an existing image, and, only if you tap “Save to Photos”, to save a picture you took.
You can change these permissions at any time in your device settings. The app works for text typing without them.
Sharing
We share your photo only with the service providers needed to run the app: our hosting provider (Render) and Anthropic, as described above. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights and the security of the service.
Retention and security
Photos are not stored by our server after processing. Technical logs are kept for a limited time for troubleshooting and security. We use encrypted connections to protect data in transit, but no method of transmission is completely secure.
Children
The app is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Your choices
You decide which photos to send. If you have a question or want us to delete any information related to your use of the app, contact us at the address below.
Accuracy notice
Translations are generated by AI and are provided for education and entertainment. They may contain errors and should not be treated as scholarly or authoritative.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The effective date above shows when it was last changed.
